REASONABLE SUSPICION TRAINING FOR SUPERVISORS

FACILITATOR: Deb Bliven - A WorkSAFE Service, Inc., Salem
COST: $60 per Participant

This session will satisfy the 2 hour training of supervisor requirement mandated by the Department of Transportation (DOT), 49 CFR 382.603, 49 CFR 655.14, and 46 CFR 16.401. However, any employer who has, or is interested in establishing, a drug-free workplace is also encouraged to attend!

Training will include the following elements:

What constitutes reasonable suspicion testing for controlled substances and alcohol.
Liabilities for employers and supervisors regarding reasonable suspicion testing.
Physical effects of alcohol misuse and controlled substances use. Observable physical, behavioral, speech, and performance indicators of probable alcohol misuse or use of controlled substances.
Importance of the supervisor documenting events and observations leading to the request for testing.
How to approach the employee to discuss the supervisor's concerns and observations.
